According to data published by the U.S Ministry of Commerce, in the first nine months of 2012, the two-way relationship between two countries reached 18.4 billion USD, increased by 13.4% over the same period.
From the above data, the American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (AmCham) has updated the two-way trade forecast between Vietnam and the United States could reach 24.5 billion USD in 2012, increased by 12% compared with 2011.?In particular, Vietnam’s exports to the U.S reach 19.8 billion USD, increased by 13% and imports from this country reach 4.8 billion USD, increased by 9%.

Besides, Amcham also expected the US will import garments from Vietnam with the value could reach 7.5 billion USD in 2012, increased compared with 2011 (7.2 billion USD), but significantly reduced compared with the rate of growth of two years 2011 and 2010.

The report from General Statistics Office (GSO) on Vietnam’s export in the first nine months of 2012 shows that the US continues to be the largest market with a turnover of 14.7 billion USD, accounting for 17.5% of total export value.?Over time, the value of Vietnamese goods imported from the US reached 3.7 billion USD, accounting for 4.42%.?Overall, the proportion of export turnover between Vietnam and the US accounted for nearly 11% of total exports and imports of goods of Pakistan, in the first nine months of this year.
